Watch | The Mortuary Project at Mowbray Cemetery Initiated

In a meaningful step forward, the Mowbray Cemetery, with the support of the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) and other key stakeholders, has launched a pioneering mortuary project to serve the needs of the Muslim Community of Cape Town. This initiative arose from the necessity of providing dignified, community-based care for the deceased, ensuring that local traditions and values are respected. The project enhances the services of the Cemetery which also offers Ghusl Facilities to prepare the deceased as well as a prayer facility amongst others thereby ensuring a convenient and dignified space for families. The Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) President, Sheikh Riad Fataar, welcomes the Mortuary project and comments on its development.
